IMPACTO NEWS & PICTURES - JULY 2025

July 15, 2025 by Impacto

Is it really the end of July? It feels like it was just May and we were prepping for our busy season! Now as we near the end of the summer season we prepare for all the work that was put on the back-burner! This could mean you’ll be hearing new ideas from Pastor Luis soon, we all know how he is!

This last month God has been at work, without a doubt. We could list off many hardships, many adversities, and countless sacrifices, but none of that compares to the joy we have felt to see many seeds planted, and many souls harvested for the Kingdom of God! It has all been, and continues to be, worth it. To God be the glory!

Speaking of work on the back-burner, Zona Cero Youth Camp and Christmas Festival are rapidly approaching! We always joke that it doesn’t feel like the holiday season is upon us unless we’re planning and partaking in both events. Zona Cero and Christmas Festival have become so special to us, it truly is a different experience. Ministering to the youth of Guatemala is humbling, heartbreaking, and fulfilling all at once. They are our future, they will one day lead our country, and most importantly lead God’s church. Help us pray that many lives will be saved during Zona Cero. Remember, we offer teens a 2 for 1 deal if they bring a non-believer friend. So, about half the attendees are saved and half are not. That’s a big responsibility for us, to make sure we are sharing the Gospel through words, actions, and in love. Pray that we will see many make a decision that will alter their eternity in the best way possible.

As for the Christmas Festival, it’s a time that all involved always look forward to. Everyone is always so grateful for their baskets full of food and special Christmas treats. They appreciate the eggs given to them and always look forward to having a chicken for their Christmas Day tamales!

As you pray for both events, we ask that you consider donating to help us make this happen. We need $30,000 to make both Zona Cero and Christmas Festival possible. Any help little or big is appreciated and we pray will be blessed back 100 times fold.

Selah

Have you seen the word Selah in the Bible? We see it a lot in the Old Testament in the book of Psalms. For example, Psalm 46:1-3 says, “ God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah”

Here at the end of verse 3 we see the word, Selah. I want to leave this thought with you, so that next time you’re reading the Bible and see this word you will have a better perspective and a better vision as you read the Word, maybe even a greater impact. Selah means, pause and meditate. This means that after the first 3 verses of Psalm 46 God’s Word says, “stop right there” (Selah). Meditate on what you have read, read once, twice, three times! Over and over again and then Selah

Selah was also used as musical direction that meant, pause. So, the Bible is telling us, pause and meditate and the Lord will speak to your heart.

Serving Christ together,

Pastor Luis
