Merry Christmas! Just kidding! However, we are celebrating Christmas in July here at Impacto. Below you can read more about Christmas in July. You will also see other praises and prayer requests. Please, add them to your prayer list and intercede on our behalf as well as joining us in praising Him for all He has done.
Praises
- We praise God because we are a little over halfway through our summer season and we have seen Him do so many amazing things!
- We, humbly, give thanks to God for allowing us to be mere tools in His grand plan. We rejoice every time we see His miracles and every time we see someone proclaim Jesus Christ as their true Savior and the only way to God.
- All glory to God! This summer we have seen teams preach God’s Word in such a fervent manner. It leaves us encouraged and excited to continue doing the same. Our staff feels an urgency to share about Christ and the Salvation He so graciously offers.
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:1-2
Prayer Requests
- Next week will be the Annual Bible Conference. We are very thankful to Riverview Church for their huge part in making this possible. And, we’ve had several donations that are providing a scholarship and so several more pastors will have the opportunity to attend … thank you! The Bible Conference is an event that so many pastors and church leaders in Guatemala look forward to with joyful anticipation! We are so excited to minister to, love on, and pray for all those who are constantly doing the same for others. Join us in praying that each attendee will leave feeling refreshed, loved, refilled, and carrying a much lighter load.
- Our Tabernacle (pictured above) had a makeover this past month. We have added windows. Though we loved the open space it was hard to use during our windy days as well as rainy days. It was a matter of practicality and for maximum use. However, now we are left with the need of a false ceiling, lights, and fans. We were estimated a budget of $10,000 to get this done. This morning God already answered and an anonymous donor stepped forward and offered a matching donation of $5,000. The tabernacle is used abundantly in the ministry, and we want to make it a more functional and beautiful place for those we minister to. You can donate through the website or by check. Christmas Festival
In just 20 weeks, we will be right in the middle of our Christmas Festival! As many of you know, the Christmas Festival is a very special event. We get to tell so many about the true meaning of Christmas, we get to praise God for what He has done for us who are so undeserving, we get to sing Christmas Carols as we worship and honor Him, and we get to be a small part of each family’s Christmas cheer.
Now is a great time for you to start planning how you can be a part of the Christmas Festival. We will be giving close to 200 Christmas baskets; that’s almost 200 families!
As a reminder, each basket is filled with staple food items, additionally we like to add some Christmas treats for the family to share. We also give each family a carton of 30 eggs, and a live chicken to use to make their Christmas tamales. We also purchase a gift for each Happy Tummies child and Abuelito. Many of them will save their present to open on Christmas Eve (that is when we open presents here in Guatemala, right at midnight!). The basket, eggs, and chicken come to a total of US$100 per bundle. Additionally, we are working with a $35 budget for a present for each child and abuelito.
If you would like to donate you can make this a team/group effort. Maybe come together to raise funds with your Sunday School class, small group, neighborhood, co-workers, family, or workout class, etc. Donations may be made online or by check. Designate: Compassion.
Thank you, in advance, for making someone’s Christmas special.
Matthew 9:36 “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
